Usage of medical oxygen mask

Jun 21, 2022

The medical oxygen mask is simple to use. Its basic structure is composed of the mask body, adapter, nose clip, oxygen supply pipe, oxygen supply pipe connection and elastic band. The oxygen mask can wrap the nose and mouth (oral nasal mask) or the whole face (full mask).

How to use the medical oxygen mask correctly? Now let me show you.

1. Prepare the necessary items for the oxygen mask and check them repeatedly to avoid omission. Carefully check the bed number and name, wash your face and hands before operation, wear a mask, and tidy your personal clothes to prevent wearing items from falling off.

2. Check the bed number repeatedly before operation. After inspection, install the oxygen meter and test whether it is unblocked. Install oxygen cores and humidification bottles, and check whether these devices are stable and in good working condition.

3. Check whether the date of the oxygen tube is within the warranty period. Check whether there is any sign of air leakage and ensure that the oxygen suction tube is in good condition. Connect the oxygen suction pipe with the humidification bottle to ensure a stable connection. At the same time, turn on the switch to adjust the oxygen flow.

4. Check the oxygen pipe again, and test whether it is unblocked and has no leakage. Check whether there is water at the end of the oxygen pipe. If there are water drops, wipe them dry in time.

5. Connect the oxygen pipe with the head mask, and ensure that the connection is intact to ensure that there will be no problems in the working state. After checking, put on the oxygen mask. The tightness of the upper cover and the comfort of the nose clip should be adjusted.

6. After wearing the oxygen mask, record the time and flow of oxygen inhalation in time, carefully and carefully patrol back and forth, and observe the oxygen inhalation state for abnormal performance.

7. After the oxygen consumption time reaches the standard, stop using oxygen in time, carefully remove the mask, turn off the flowmeter in time, and record the time of stopping using oxygen.
